Classes continue to encourage students to build their skills, compassion and fearlessness as they grow. Teen classes are specifically for beginner/intermediate dancers. 

* Classes must have 5 dancers enrolled to hold class*

Class Descriptions

Ballet

Ballet is the foundation of all dance.  In this class we begin learning the foundations of ballet, learning to use proper feet muscles, position the arms correctly and create effective muscle memory. Strength and flexibility are incorporated throughout class. 

Traditional and contemporary techniques are taught, consisting of barre, centre work, across the floor, and eventually pre-pointe and pointe.

Tap

The class emphasis is on developing proper tap technique, producing clear tap sounds, and coordination. Tap class structure allows each dancer to understand complex rhythms, and patterns.

Jazz

Jazz class will focus on learning isolations of the body, turns, leaps, and improving performance quality. Class will consist of a proper warm-up, stretches, isolations, across-the-floor progressions, and combinations.

Hip Hop

This is a high energy class, jam packed with ways to gain self-confidence, rhythm, and coordination. Hip Hop lets the dancers use their own personal rhythm to find their way of moving. The class will  include the following elements of hip hop: grooves, popping, locking, breakdancing and more, while using age appropriate music.

Contemporary Sr.

Contemporary joins ballet, jazz, and modern all together to create a dance form that allows for self expression. Dancers will explore news ways of moving in combinations and this class also incorporates various methods of improvisation.

Musical Theatre Sr.

A fantastic class for inspiring Broadway stars… lessons allow students to study and explore a wide variety of styles used for Broadway theatre choreography. It is a fun way to prepare students for musical theatre auditions.

Acro

Acro is the beautiful fusion of the artistic motion of dance and the athleticism of acrobatics. AcroDance is not the same as gymnastics. An AcroDancer must complete all of the skills on the hard stage without the advantage of a sprung floor, while seamlessly integrating musicality, emotional expression, extension, and lines. Class will incorporate different aspects of cardio, handstands, balances, limbering, bridges, and tumbling.
