Give your child access to our dance and yoga classes with the option of dancing in the comfort of your own home. To help them stick with their dancing this year, we have added Virtual Dance and Yoga classes that are designed to provide them with a fun and safe activity to allow them to continue doing what they love.
Virtual Classes
All virtual classes are held through Zoom. All regular FMDC Policies apply to virtual classes as well. Find our policies HERE.
Ballet/Tap 3-5 yrs- Wednesday 3-3:45pm
This is a 45 minute virtual class for young dancers, incorporating ballet and tap vocabulary. Students begin learning the foundations of ballet and tap in an upbeat, educational environment. This class is held through Zoom.
Ballet 6-7 yrs- Saturday 11:45am-12:45pm
Ballet is the foundation of all dance. In this class, we begin learning the foundations of ballet including: learning to use proper feet muscles, positioning of the arms, and creating effective muscle memory. Strength and flexibility are incorporated throughout class. Traditional and contemporary techniques will be taught, consisting of barre, centre work, and across the floor. This class is held through Zoom.
Hip Hop 6-7 yrs – Monday 5:45-6:45pm
This is a high energy class, jam packed with ways to gain self-confidence, rhythm, and coordination. Hip hop lets the dancers use their own personal rhythm to find their way of moving. The class will include the following elements of hip hop: grooves, popping, locking, breakdancing and more, while using age appropriate music. This class is held through Zoom.
Yoga 6-13 yrs- Thursday 4:45-5:45pm
This class allows kids to explore the mind and body connection. Poses will continually be explained, but more yoga sequences will be introduced, creating a breath to movement flow. The yoga class is an encouraging and uplifting environment, allowing for growth and exploration. Music and games will aid in the instruction of yoga as well.
Jazz 8-10 yrs- Friday 4-5pm
Jazz class will focus on learning isolations of the body, turns, leaps, and improving performance quality. Class will consist of a proper warm-up, stretches, isolations, across-the-floor progressions, and combinations. This class is held through Zoom.
